May bank holiday meet

This meet had to be cancelled due to bad weather, instead members headed to Craggy Island and Calshot for the day.

This is a new meet that has been decided by some club members to happen over the May bank holiday, currently where we are going is undecided but it will be either Swanage, Portland or Wye Valley. We'll almost certainly be camping but this meet has only been recently decided and not much is organised so far, keep an eye out as we'll update this soon.

Gower

It's been a few years since the HMA last visited the Gower and a few members have never even been, should make for a good trip as long as the weather is pleasant. For full details on campsite prices see their website

Portland day meet

Recently planned meet by a member sending a quick email around to climb at Portland on Sunday. Not sure exactly where we'll go but will probably decide on the day depending on the weather conditions. This is an alternative to the Gower meet as not everyone was able to commit to the whole weekend climbing there.

Pembroke

This will be the first trip in a while the club has made to Pembroke, get in touch if you're interested as we'll be finalising numbers very soon then sorting out accommodation accordingly. Hopefully if there is good weather we'll have a BBQ too!

Clecy, France

Unfortunately the trip to Clecy has been cancelled due to members having other commitments on that bank holiday weekend. Instead though a few members are heading to the Peak District and other members will probably arrange other gatherings too, keep checking for updates. If you're interested in climbing on this weekend get in touch with us as we'll certainly be climbing somewhere.

Last year was the first time in a while that the club made a trip to Clecy and it was so good we decided to try and go again this year.  If you are interested in coming along please get in contact soon as the ferry prices keep going up so it'll need to be booked soon or may have to be moved to another venue!

Although no accommodation has been booked yet the place we stayed at last year has four to six spaces an cost around £34 each to give you a rough idea of the accommodation space & cost.

Wye Valley

This is a weekend trip to the Wye Valley which has a good verity of climbs at all levels ad types (single pitch, multi-pitch, trad & sport).  It's likely that we'll be camping on this trip as it should be the session for it but haven't currently booked a campsite, this will be updated as soon as we have with it's location & cost.

North Wales

This is trip is pretty much attempted every year but last time had to be cancelled due to heavy rain there, hopefully this year will be different.  Nothing has currently been booked but a location for either staying in a barn (if enough members are attending) or camping has been found and will be booked soon so if you're interested get in touch soon!

Lundy

This will be the first time the HMA have been to Lundy in quite some time, we've decided on this weekend as the tide should be low around midday (spring tides) and allow us to get lots of good climbing in.

Get in contact with us soon if you're interested in going so we can book accommodation (might just end up camping though) and transport soon while it's cheaper.  Although currently there is no limit on the members attending this meet it will depend on how many the accommodation will hold when it is booked, assuming we're not camping.

If we were to camp while staying over there we'd probably be using the Lundy Island Campsite which costs between £7 - £10 per person per night.

Spain

This will be the yearly Spain trip again which has always proven quite popular, so if you're interested make sure you let us know but an email will go around quite some time before the meet happens.  We've not decided on what area we'll be going to yet but it'll probably be around the same area as last year (Benidorm).

The dates for this meet are not fixed but it will be around September / October depending on the school holidays and what date suits the club members best.

Dolgellau

This is the yearly trip to Dolgellau and is normally quite a popular meet, although there is quite a lot of places in the accommodation they get filled out quickly so if you're interested get in contact with us soon.

Some of the activities that generally go on during this meet are:

• Walk down the railway to Barmouth
• Mountain biking around Coed Y Brenin
• Hill walking in the Arrans, Cader Idris & other walks

Generally a large meal is cooked for everyone on the Saturday night with everyone putting a small some of cash in to cover the cost on top of the accommodation costs.  Although currently the accommodation hasn't been booked we normally (and this year will probably be no different) stay at Penmaenucha Farm.
